It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for … Janet Jackson has officially released her first album in seven years!
The
pop star, who kicked off her world tour this summer, dropped
Unbreakable on Thursday night which fans are absolutely loving … and so
are we.
Out
the gate, the 19-track disc gives us the Janet we love, nostalgia at
it’s highest. After a stellar introduction, the album goes right into
the singer’s new track, “BURNITUP!”  with Missy Elliott, who tweeted on
Friday morning her excitement for Janet’s new project.
It
is also worth noting that the only other feature on the project is J.
Cole, who collaborated with Jackson on her lead single, “No Sleeep.”
This
labor of love, produced by legendary producing duo, Jimmy Jam and Terry
Lewis, includes a sweet tribute to the 49-year-old’s late brother,
Michael Jackson, who passed away in 2009. “It was a long, long time ago,
But I remember it like yesterday, Amazing times while we were growing,
Round all the bright stars,” Janet sings.
“The
fall and winter never felt so cold, And though the words can never
express it, I guess you feel I miss you much, There were days like never
before, We can’t laugh together till we cry, But our love ain’t no
material thing, And shall I see you in the next life,” the beauty sings before launching into the chorus.
‘UNBREAKABLE’ project is available now on iTunes.
